Back in 2023 the Longest Johns released a joint album with their friends the Catalan folk group El Pony Pisador, called The Longest Pony.
(This is him, his name is Gazpacho.)
This year, they are touring together - 7 gigs around the UK in 8 days - performing the songs from the album as well as a set of their usual music. And a number of overseas fans from their discord decided they would hire a van, and travel round to all the shows. Now I'm not quite managing that, but I am going to three out of seven - it was too good a chance to miss to enjoy some fun music and to meet up with friends from online, some of whom I've met at previous shows, and others for the first time.
Last night was the first show of the tour, and the other two I'm going to are Friday and Saturday of this coming week. I'll probably do another picture post after that, but at the moment I wanted to share this video I took last night. The album contains a wide range of music, from comic originals to trad sea shanties, but this one is so lovely.
