New Year, New Me...

Before Christmas I experimented with red streaks in my hair, and decided I wanted to record it for posterity, so Aji_chees very kindly did me a new profile pic.

Christmas icon...

Last Christmas a friend from the Home Free Discord made this for me, and I used it as a profile pic in various places, but never got round to changing it here.

Thank you to keane_tunnelly for a really cute piece of art.

Changing times...

One of the joys of fandom is meeting, at least virtually, people from all over the world, of different ages and cultures. One person I've got to know as a fellow fan of Home Free is a young cartoonist from the Philippines - still at school, but growing and learning their art with encouragement from the fandom, and from the guys in the band, who've responded very positively to it on social media.

They've been doing commissions, and I decided I'd like to get my own aji.chees original, to replace the various doll-maker icons I've used on various social media sites. So here's me, cartoon-style...

It's far too late

to talk about Christmas but I still wanted to show off my favourite present. :-)

A picture by a local artist )

I first saw it at the Christmas event they had in Winchcombe in the middle of December, and I really liked it. Then I walked into a gallery for local artists in town, and there it was again. Since we have new walls to decorate, it really seemed like the right time to ask for a specific present.

I suppose for me it's both a lovely image but also a very local one. I don't think I've ever walked in this particular wood but I have in many like it, and it just feels right. I've lost a number of things I thought of as home in the last year, so to have a new piece of it on my wall is a great comfort. :-)
