Festivids

Every year the vidding version of Yuletide produces a wonderful crop of vids for rare/unvidded fandoms.

The vidders were revealed this weekend, so it was the perfect prompt to share some on my favourites.

The first one I have to share is for An Adventure in Time and Space, the drama about the early days of Doctor Who that was made for the 50th Anniversary. This emphasises the story of Verity Lambert and Waris Hussein, the original producer and director, making something wonderful happen.

It was made by purplefringe, who posts here about why she found the drama so inspiring.

All three Great British Bakeoff vids, but particularly All in Together by Nancy Blackett

Welcome to the Jungle by grammarwoman
- Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, a brilliant choice of music for a film I fell in love with the first time I saw it in the cinema.

Rock this Town by deirdre_c - the Pirates of Penzance, as played by Kevin Kline and Angela Lansbury, among others.

Shut Up and Drive by kaydee falls the perfect music for what is still one of my favourite action movies, Speed.

That one is great, yes :)

I squealed shamelessly over the Inspector Rex one (it was a huge hit over here on the multicultural channel, and I am still a fan...)

Being as it was in Austrian, it never got shown in a lot of English-speaking countries, but at that stage our multi-cultural channel was having a real push for foreign language shows. Even so, I think they were surprise when Australia took it to their collective hearts...
