Passed with Distinction

It's not as high-powered as [livejournal.com profile] cadiliniel 's exams but I'm celebrating the fact that I got a distinction on my last assessment. Celebrating

Since Christmas I've been doing a City and Guilds Diploma in IT in the evenings at my local college. (It's all very well telling employers I've been using PCs for the last 12 years, but they like to have the piece of paper.) The distinction was for the Word Processing element - now I know how to do mail-merges and insert clip art of vegetables into my documents.

Oh well, on to IT Principles and Spreadsheets.

Funny how employers want meaningless bits of paper isn't it? And then there're all these articles about people lying in their CVs ... hmmm

Could be worse, when I was signing on last the DSS staff had been told they needed to ge NVQs to show they could talk to people about signing on/applying for jobs ... like what a transferable skill that would be! ^_~
