So I'm back from Oxonmoot, which was an excellent weekend in many ways. I met old friends and made new ones, ate a lot of ice cream and more bagels than ever before ;-).

I even restrained myself from bankrupting myself in the dealers' room, which was definitely easier said than done. I did take some pictures, thanks to rustica coming to my rescue with some rechargeable batteries for my camera, and I'll be doing a proper report later, when I'm a little more awake.

Hope everybody else got/gets home ok and looking forward to reading your reports.

It was a good Oxonmoot, wasn't it? I liked G&D's, the fact that (for the first time in fourteen years?) I didn't end up behind a sales desk, the friends. There were some unfortunate absences - there always are, of course, but they don't normally include peoples' pre-selected main courses, real ale, mead, decent whisky, hot water ...

I did enjoy it - but I was less inconvenienced by the absences than a lot of people, so I was just left feeling vaguely guilty about them.

Everybody I spoke to seemed pretty happy about the weekend as a whole though, and not put off by the deficiencies of the college - so hopefully most of them will be back next year. :-)

You usually end up behind a sales desk because you wanted to. I remember last summer it taking several attempts to prise you from behind one, and this time you specifically volunteered beforehand, but *someone* grabbed you for other tasks...
