Christmas (or Advent at least)

We've started on the Christmas decorations, and one old favourite is this
Advent Calendar. I'm reliably informed it's 40 years old this year, and as
you can see the doors have long since fallen off. It's an old friend, though, and
I can't see us getting rid of it.

Do you have a favourite Christmas decoration - an old friend, or a new and
shiny? I'd love to see them - post when you get round to putting them up,
or if you already have pictures.

It's so good to know there are other people who don't ditch Advent Calendars each year and get new ones.

Mine aren't that old, but I've had them all for several years and I alternate them each year.

I have a couple of Me to You Christmas ornaments of which I'm very found. I shall take pictures when I put them up and share them then. Oh, and I also have a Me to You Christmas stuffed teddy which I confess stays out in the sitting room all year round 'guarding' us. He's be awfully unhappy to be put away each year *Looks sheepish*

I can understand that.

Thank you.

My father has one that my mother made aeons ago. It was up during the earliest bit of my childhood I can remember and might even predate it.

The best thing about it is that it's a frame with some bells in the middle, so when the tinsel gets tatty you can just change that and it's good to go for another 5+ years, but it's still HER decoration, since she started the changing of the tinsel long before she was gone.

Picture some time as I don't have one here. Maybe it'll be my next year userpic.
