Not a costumed loonies article, regardless of the silly headline, and with a only slightly garbled mention of the Tolkien Weekend.

The absence of Oxonmoot is a pain, but it is nice to see such a good range of events mentioned.

If he makes a habit of this kind of article then I suppose an Oxonmoot visit wouldn't be too annoying.

It is - it's great to get an overview of the different kinds of things that Tolkien fans do, rather than pigeonholing us. I wouldn't be surprised if new people make contact as a result, rather than thinking that Tolkien fandom is either far too highbrow, or too geeky for them.

That's partly why I'm willing to deal with him, he's pretty open and fair-minded for a journalist, and you know how he's likely to deal with stuff.
