I'm glad you liked it - I originally met it attached to a Highlander fanfic (poem fic instead of song fic) but it stuck with me and I went looking for a copy.
I only really know John M. Ford's Star Trek novels but they were good enough that I keep thinking I must look out more of his work one day.
