Go here - http://www.dreamwidth.org/openid/ and sign in (in the box in the middle of the page) with the_marquis.livejournal.com .
You'll get an account with a reading (friends) page, and the ability to have people give you access to their locked posts. (Also you can leave comments signed from your account, like I've done with this one.)
If you set up an email address with Dreamwidth as well, they will email you any replies to your comments and it gives you the best chance of being sent an invite code for a full account.
