I been reading and enjoying
thefourthvine's fic recommendations for quite a while now - she's very entertaining, even if you're not in the slightest bit interested in the fandoms she's writing about. Recently she's been talking about vids as well and gave instructions that we should go and recommend vids ourselves - read here. ;-)
So I think a lot of you might love
sockkpuppett and
sisabet's latest vids, which you can find links to here. They are both multifandom - featuring the US Sci-Fi's Friday night shows: Doctor Who, Farscape and Battlestar Galatica. Don't worry if you don't know the shows though - they aren't about deep plot points as much as angst, whumping, spaceships and lots of explosions. :-)
For those of you who prefer fanfic, when I went through my list of stories to be recommended I was amazed to find I hadn't talked about the Retrograde series by Martha Wilson. It's one of the best stories I've read for a long time - a long plotty story featuring both SG-1 and the Atlantis team.
In the author's own words - A Stargate Atlantis/Stargate SG1 crossover series, set in an alternate universe. The Atlantis expedition has been lost for three years. SG-1 goes to find them, and arrives just a little too late.
I love her Jack and John Sheppard, but it gives all the characters interesting and in-character things to do and gives a very convincing account of how things would have changed or stayed the same if Atlantis had been out of touch for that long.
