New fandom?
May. 17th, 2019 08:21 pmIt's been a strange few months, with my aunt's death leaving a shadow, though in many ways life has gone on as usual.
It's been a long time since I've had a media fandom - not really since Merlin, as I never made the move to Tumblr, and in any case haven't really found anything that I wanted to be fannish about - I've watched and loved the MCU for example, but never felt the need to take that extra step.
Since Christmas, though, I've been falling more and more in love with a group of musicians, which is not something I've ever done before - I enjoy listening to music, from a wide range of genres, but I've never really been invested in any particular group, even when I was teenager, back in the depths of time.
Home Free have changed all that, as I've spent far too long on YouTube following their career for the last five years or so. And for the last week I've been eagerly following the announcements for their new album and tour - with tickets booked for their concert in Birmingham next March. I must admit I was pretty anxious about it, as it's not something I've ever done, but I knew if I passed up the opportunity I'd regret it more.
So this is the title track from their new album - a feel-good message, a fun video, and brilliant harmonies, as always. I've never been able to decide which of them is my favourite singer, they all carry their leads so well, but Chance's smoky tone is definitely the right choice for this song.
