Back in 2006, I found out that one of the major Stargate cons was going to be held in my home town, and I couldn't pass up the chance to attend. I have fond memories of meeting some lovely fellow fans, being kissed by Erik Avari and dancing con dances in the bar at the local University. :-)

It was part of their standard programme to have a particular song that they played every chance they got, and made a music video for, and for that particular event the song was the ridiculously bouncy

Absolutely Everybody by Vanessa Amorosi

This is a song I've known most of my life, because my mother used to sing it as a lullaby for my younger brothers. She's not Scottish at all (looking at the family history, she's as Gloucestershire as they come), but it's such a beautiful tune.

Songs make me happy for all sorts of reasons, but this has tickled me ever since the first time I heard it. A classic British winter song, from a children's animated film, originally sung by a boy soprano, but this is a cover version by one of Europe's biggest metal bands, and it works so wonderfully well. :-)

1: Your favourite song

A pretty impossible choice, this - I might be able to name my favourite 100 songs... maybe. So I went with one I first met through a Stargate vid, and loved, because the words really meant something to me - a good message to hear, imo.
