I'm mostly just helping my parents out, which I don't mind so much - I think being over 60 does give you a bit of an excuse. But when it's people our age or younger...they're really just not trying.

In general, yes, they do get a bit of a pass. But he's not the world's best pupil ...

That is the frustrating bit, isn't it? It's not that they don't know, but that they don't listen when you tell them.

And I suspect it's a bit different if you have to do it every time you visit, as opposed to being on the spot to sort things out as you go.
