For those of us who grew up before that new-fangled Thomas the Tank Engine series. ;-)

Time Flies By When I'm The Driver of a Train.

Mine is a Conway Stewart. Bunn was the photographer. More here: http://philmophlegm.livejournal.com/178178.html but then you've already commented!

Na'Quis loves Chigley (all of Trumptonshire actually) but I will show her Ivor with this now and see what she thinks

I wish I could get a recording of my old Trumpton & Chigley record for her, but no record player :(

El absolutely adored Ivor at that age (well from about 1 1/2 onwards). I mean he still likes it, but back then it was the thing that he would always ask for again and again, pretty much the only thing that would cheer him up when he was feeling poorly. Fro likes Ivor too, but his 'cheer up' favourite is the Clangers. Bagpuss is also a big hit with both of them.

Should try to get hold of some Trumptonshire for them, it really is lovely.

Train programmes seem perenially popular. The newer Thomas the Tank Engine series was the 'cheer up favourite' of a friend's son when he was about two. And the current CBeebies programme Chuggington is a favourite of a friend's little boy (and another one El was very keen on at about 2 and 3.) Oddly enough he's never seen the television version of Thomas, but also at 2 and 3 he was absolutely mad about the original Awdry Tank Engine books, and spent whole days 'being' Thomas and getting fuelled up (fed) and his firebox raked out (nappy changed) etc.

Gordon Murray, tortured genius.

(And just to make this clear, the Gordon Murray behind Chigley is not the same Gordon Murray who designed the Brabham BT49 seen in my userpic!)
