Well, I hope not, but it certainly hit all of my buttons.

After Merlin ended so tragically, I was looking for ways of fixing the story so that they could actually have the Golden Age of Camelot we'd been prophesied since the first season, without actually pretending none of it had happened. I came up with a prompt I posted to a couple of places, that the Evil Morgana we saw from season 3 onwards wasn't the real Morgana, and that once the real Morgana was found, she and Gwen resolved the UST they had right from the beginning of the show, and Arthur was never going to reject her just for her magic.

Somebody picked up the prompt and decided to write it for the Merlin Big Bang, and the story was finally posted this morning. :-)

I was thrilled - it has a nice magic reveal and Merlin/Arthur romance, but also pays equal time to Morgana coming to terms with what has happened to her and to Camelot in her absence, and learning that she was the Pendragon Gwen loved all the time. :-)

Reading through help files this morning for Google Product Display Ads, it amused me a little to see that in the example product feed xml file, one of the example products was a Merlin DVD.

Whatever we say about being unhappy with the ending, there's little doubt it was a successful series - 5 series and being shown all over the world. Hopefully Merlin DVD ads will keep popping up in appropriate places for the forseeable future. :-)
