One of the hazards joys of reading in so many fandoms is the number of stories you enjoy you are liable to come across at once.

First, thanks to ms_katonic, who pointed out these two short Harry Potter stories.

Professional Duties by owlyscribblings is a cross-over - with the summary "Susan Sto Helit has a job to do." - I love her opinions of out of control teenagers. ;-)

So You Think You Can Dance by fourth_rose - what were the Slytherins doing, while McGonagall was giving dance lessons? Quite hilarious.

Then we have two Stargate stories

Mesozoic Maze by Veldeia is an old-fashion team, adventure, hurt-comfort fic - with adversaries straight out of Jurassic Park. Daniel and Jack whumping, what more could you want?

(Im)patient by green_gurl - a wonderful Season 9 set Jack and Daniel friendship story - even in DC Jack sometimes needs Daniel to interpret the local culture.

What I love about Tolkien fanfic is that you can have epics almost as long as LotR itself or short pieces of hobbity fluff like:

A Word of Caution Regarding Hobbits by Baylor - Men may be forbidden to enter the Shire after the return of the King, but he didn't say anything about elves.


And finally an Angel story, set just after the end of Season Five - major spoilers for the end of the series.

In The Alley by the nyxie - the end of Season Five may have been perfect television but didn't you want to know how it all turned out? A powerful telling of how it could have been.

Since I'm one of those weird people who would rather read gen than anything else in Harry Potter, I'm so happy when someone points me in the direction of more, particularly when it is as good as these are. Thanks for the rec.
