Snow!

Like most of the UK people on my flist, we woke up to snow this morning. :-) It's been a while since we've had snow that settled like this, and though it's well on the way to melting now (it's a beautifully sunny day), first thing this morning it was quite impressive.

And before I forget, I've been spending rather more time on Facebook lately, having found a really fun application called (fluff) friends - but I've been very amused by some of their ads. You know you've been a slasher too long when you can't resist an ad that starts "Sash your dream date and slash the losers" (with whom one wonders :-D). And then the button reads, "Start Slashing", though I don't think it's a link to crack_van.

We too have snow, although like you it is melting.

All the trees that had snow on the top in the picture are now completely clear, though there's still some at ground level where it's in the shadow of the house.

It's been a while since we had snow settle at all, but this had the advantage of coming down overnight onto relatively dry ground.

Very nice! There's a few spots of snow left here too, but not much. By now it's rotten and not very nice to look on at all.

Thank goodness it's not as bad as Caradhras. :-)

Slush isn't particularly fun, but we're not even getting that, it's just disappearing altogether.

Ours doesn't usually settle these days either, but as I was saying to nakeisha I think the fact that it came down overnight meant it stuck better.

I'll certainly add you on Facebook - I didn't used to use it much, but with all the extra time I've had lately due to convalescing, I've got into some of the applications and particularly (fluff)friends.

Unless there was some kind of freak break between here and Oxford I guess so. :-) My brother slept through most of it as well but at least I had the pictures to prove it.
