Spike. Evidence I don't always go for the smart one. :-) I was one of those prescient people who started shipping Buffy and Spike straight after the end of season 2, though I wasn't really in the fandom. It was my early days on the net, gobbling up all the fanfic and not talking to anybody. And of course, it was before Duncan/Methos dragged me over to the slash side of the force.

Joss has a great touch with one-liners, funny and also telling about the character. From the film Serenity, the sequel to Firefly.

Daniel and an old chestnut, with reference to the episode Absolute Power. An excellent icon for commenting on exam results and other studenty stuff. :-)

From House, another clever line - very appropriate for posts when I talk about myself.

I love that House quote. It always applies to me.
That Serenity quote falls under that odd (but surprisingly well populated) category of "Whedon lines everyone else quotes yet I think are the least memorably clever of his dialogue".

I think the joy of the Serenity quote is that it works in a lot of contexts, so it's great for iconing. But it's certainly not one of his most original lines.

And that House line is such a great choice for the many of us who spend our lives on the internet.

Doesn't he? I don't see a lot of Buffy icons, but somebody linked to the set this was part of and I knew I couldn't resist it.
